"I went from 84-88 to 89-92 touching 94 mph. This got me into the top 200 in the draft. If you're looking for a quick easy fix, then this isn't the program for you."

My son, Jack, who started the program just before his 15th birthday, gained 27 lbs in 24 weeks and went from 76-77 to 85-87 mph. At 17, he is now up to 95 mph (see below), weighs 205 lbs and committed to pitch at his dream school, Georgia Tech. Ben's training and nutritional insight has set Jack up for a lifetime of taking training and eating seriously - he now understands the work he needs to put in to improve.

In a field of old-school, hard headed, do this because we've always done it this way, Ben sticks out like a sore thumb. His rare perspective as an athlete progressing towards the MLB and a strength coach building athletes gives a grounded blend of metric-driven training with practical player driven application. Ben's on a short list of coaches that constantly have my ear.

The biggest benefit for me as a college coach without access to a strength and conditioning coach, was that Tread's Team Programs provided much more structure and informed detail than I ever could have provided. The level of detail in this program is incredible. It has changed the way I look at our off-season, and it has changed the way our guys train. I would recommend this to any college coach who does not have access to a designated S&C coach...or to any HS or Travel coaches that could raise the money to do so...it is the best investment you could make.

Ben slotted in as a trainer for us in the 2014-15 offseason and furthered our mission by addressing glaring holes that we had and stepped in with solutions of his own. He took the lead on training our athletes and it paid off for many of our guys. I cannot recommend Ben's work enough. His meticulous attention to detail was reflected in his own history of training, going from a scrawny high school pitcher to ultimately drafted by the Chicago White Sox, putting up impressive statistics in his first year of pro ball. Ben's guidance is a huge asset that any athlete should seek out in any form. It is my great pleasure to recommend Ben as one of the sharpest strength trainers we've ever had at Driveline Baseball, and the bar for praise at my facility is set rather high. [Ben was the head trainer at Driveline in the winter of 2014-15, prior to launching TreadAthletics]

Tread has done an outstanding job with our program. Ben has coordinated our strength and conditioning program, nutritional needs, all logs, etc. His knowledge has helped our players to take huge jumps this fall in many areas. Our players love the training packets and that they are updated and calculated to help them max out on the field. Ben's availability to me as a coach is priceless. I would recommend Tread Athletics to anyone that is trying to take their program to the next level on and off the field."

My time with Tread started at a pivotal point in my career. I was without any individual coaching and was trying to navigate the challenges of programming by myself. At this point, Tread gave me a program I could believe in and helped me cast a vision as to what might be possible. As someone who went to a smaller NAIA school, I was constantly facing doubts over my goal of pitching at the professional level. Even though I never threw a professional pitch, Coan and Ben were coaches I could always rely on to help me see things straight and get back on track mentally. I am forever grateful to Tread Athletics for their help in making me who I am. The lessons I learned over two years of working with them shaped me into far more than someone with a 95 MPH fastball. I am a better man because of what I learned through my pursuit of a goal with TreadAthletics.

Ben brings a unique perspective to player development and offers the best remote programming on the market due to his unrivaled attention to detail, unique staff perspective and comprehensive approach that merges multiple domains (S&C, nutrition, throwing, etc). When I was a college coach I consistently recruited Tread clients because I felt comfortable that they were physically prepared and because being a Tread client sheds light into the makeup of a player and shows they are curious, driven and self sufficient. Bill James, the father of modern day Sabermetrics, said that raw pitch velocity offers the greatest predictive ability of any baseline pitcher metric available. Interestingly, process oriented pitch velocity development is Tread's bread and butter. I am very comfortable recommending Tread, and I'm not surprised that they have found mainstream success.

In the fall of 2015, I started working with Tread as a converted pitcher at 6'5" 215lbs, pulling down 98 and hitting 90 on the mound. A year later, I was 245 lbs, pulling down 103 mph, hitting 95 from my delivery and my strength numbers through the roof. The internet is littered with guys who claim to have all the shortcuts to throwing hard. Ben has spent more years trying to figure this whole thing out than anyone I’ve ever come across, so he knows better than anyone how detailed and foundational this training process has to be. If anyone out there wants to talk to Ben’s former clients, pick me. I’d love to take the time to help anyone out there thinking about investing in their training process.

Noah's goal is to play college baseball. I am so thankful to Coan and TreadAthletics for all their help over the past year. Noah was at 67 mph last January at a Duke Baseball Camp as an incoming freshman. Since that time, he has topped out at 83 mph. I cannot wait to see the gains at the end of the summer and beyond. Thank you Coan and the Tread team for your continued support and motivation you give Noah. [Update #1, winter 2018: Noah is clocked at 85 mph. More to come.]
