Welcome to September.
The MLB postseason is around the corner, college fall baseball is starting, and the high school offseason is well under way, with thousands of players fighting to transform themselves for the 2026 season.
And we love every second of it.
Our Mocap Freebie has also just begun – where we’re providing free motion capture analyses to eligible professional pitchers.
Plus, we have tons of exciting developments planned for 2026 (which will be disclosed in due time).
But first, I wanted to take a minute to reflect on Tread’s 10 year anniversary.
10 Years of Tread 🎥
In September of 2015, Tread was founded.
Two pitching-obsessed outcasts set out on a journey to have a lasting impact on the baseball world.
To provide the information and resources to help pitchers reach their athletic potential.
To connect with like-minded players and help them avoid making the same mistakes that we made in our own careers.
To build a community of the most driven coaches and athletes around the globe.
To become a trusted brand that everyone from parents, to high school pitchers, to college coaches, to MLB players could benefit from.
We set out on this journey – a 23 and a 19 year old, and we began to build, learn and share.

Circa 2015. Ignore the baby faces & bad haircuts.
I’ve always believed in transparency and in openly sharing information.
This is part of our very ethos, and it’s why we continue to put out 98% of our information for free.
Deliver value first. Build trust within the marketplace – and treat everyone who trusts their career to us the same as a big leaguer with a multi-million-dollar arm.
Because before I was a pro throwing 95+…
I was that 15-year-old high school pitcher who needed guidance.
I was that 18-year-old freshman walk-on, struggling to put the pieces together and earn playing time.
I was that newly drafted pitcher, getting tossed around in the bureaucracy of pro baseball.
Tread continues to be athlete-first.
- We haven’t taken a cent of outside investment.
- We continue to prioritize these one-on-one relationships.
- We continue to keep our pricing competitive while attracting some of the best coaching talent in the world.
- We continue to hold steadfast to a long-term developmental approach, despite external pressure to cave to a short-term model.
And if you could see behind the curtain to what we have planned, you’d see that we’re just getting warmed up.
Tread began as two curious, driven pitchers who had pushed through years of setbacks in our own careers in pursuit of a shared dream of pitching in the MLB.
And while neither of us accomplished this goal in our own careers, it’s safe to say that we wound up with something even more rewarding.
In 2019 we hired our first full-time coach, and set out to build a team we could be proud of.
We quickly outgrew Tread 1.0, and moved into Tread 2.0 in 2021. We now have dozens of coaches and many more support staff (not all pictured here) who make Tread what it is today.

Tread 1.0 was a modest 4,000 square foot training space, opened in 2019.

2025: 65+ full-time employees, 33,000 square foot training headquarters
It’s been a privilege to serve 7,000+ pitchers over the last 10 years. Not one-time assessments – but real coaching clients with real stories who train with us for 1-2 years on average.
Over the next decade, we hope to impact ten times that number.
So thank you for being part of this journey with us, whether you just recently discovered Tread, or you’ve been following us from the start.
Your support keeps us going, keeps us innovating, and keeps us excited for what’s ahead.
On behalf of both myself, Coan, and our team, here’s to reaching your potential.
