Internship Details

Tread offers a variety of internship opportunities across a variety of disciplines. These internships are all hosted on-site at Tread HQ in Charlotte, NC.

Please note: For those interested in training while at Tread, all training fees are waived for the duration of the internship (this includes waiving both remote & in house fees for current Tread athletes).

Strength & Conditioning Internship (1) CURRENTLY FILLED

Tread Athletics’ Strength & Conditioning Interns will have an opportunity to observe and learn from some of the most prominent minds in our industry. This internship is extremely hands-on, requiring applicants to understand how to program and teach a variety of training modalities. Main responsibilities include monitoring and caring for the weight room, as well as coaching athletes on corrective exercises, warm-ups, and strength training technique. Strength & Conditioning Interns may also have the opportunity to help lead, instruct, and program for Performance Interns. Competency in weight room etiquette and exercise technique is a requirement. Experience with programming, teaching/correcting exercise technique, and performing/interpreting movement screens will be highly valued in applicants.

Requirements:

  • Exercise Science or Human Movement/Science Degree (Pursuing)
  • Strength & Conditioning Certification (Recommended)
  • Experience Working With Athletic Populations
  • Experience With Sports Performance/Strength Training Programming
  • Baseline Understanding of Human Anatomy & Physiology
  • Knowledge And Ability to Teach & Demonstrate Basic Strength Training Exercises

Performance Internship (3-5 slots/semester) CURRENTLY FILLED

Our Performance Internship will provide an opportunity to learn, observe, and work hands-on with over 200 different baseball athletes, ranging from the high school to the professional level.

Interns will observe and assist with coaching and training in all of Tread Athletics’ pillars of performance (assessments, corrective exercise, dynamic warm-ups, throwing, mechanical analyses, pitch design, strength and conditioning, nutrition, and recovery).  

On top of having access to the 50+ members of our Performance department, interns will be assigned a coaching mentor who will work with them one-on-one. Each intern will also have the opportunity to provide value to Tread Athletics and its Performance Department through educational opportunities and potential special projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Tag pitches on TrackMan, learn pitch design, and learn how to optimize pitching arsenals
  • Education, observation, and possible hands-on experience in all of Tread Athletics Performance Pillars (assessments, corrective exercise, dynamic warm-ups, throwing, mechanical analyses, pitch design, strength & conditioning, nutrition, and recovery).
  • Perform projects, in-service training, and application
  • Daily facility detail

Biomechanics Internship (Unpaid)

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SPRING OF 2025

Experience close-up exposure to high-level throwers and coaching during bullpens while you run our 10-camera, Markerless Qualisys Motion Analysis System.

Responsibilities:

  • Lab preparation for Motion Analysis (calibration, mound prep, lineup daily schedule)
  • Assisting in operating and running Tread’s Motion Capture Lab (Qualisys Motion Capture System)
  • Generating and interpreting Qualisys biomechanics reports
  • Assisting the Director of Biomechanics
  • Special projects
  • Lab maintenance (close pitching mound, shut down Motion Analysis System, etc…)

Data Analytics Internship (Unpaid)

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SPRING OF 2025

Our Data Analytics internship is an opportunity to immerse yourself in all things data here at Tread by working directly alongside our in-house performance analysts. You will explore how we leverage ball flight data to optimize and improve arsenals, dive into motion capture data, and have a front row seat in how we integrate data analysis into our Pitching Development.

Catching/Hitting/Facility Operations Internship (1-2 slots)

If you’re passionate about and have experience with hitting and catching, this is the internship for you. You will have the opportunity to assist in the programming and coaching of our in-house catchers, including defensive work, throwing, hitting, and strength/conditioning. Your responsibilities will include assisting in facility operations, bullpen scheduling/management, and operating systems related to gym flow and catcher development. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the formation and execution of bullpen schedules
  • Assist in the allocation of in-gym resources
  • Assist in coaching catchers, including hitting, defense, & throwing
  • Analyze catcher’s throwing and hitting, including breakdowns and creating reports
  • Creating hitting, throwing, and strength programs for catchers
  • Assist in facility operations, facility detail work, and preparing the facility for athletes
  • Miscellaneous projects in areas of interest (i.e. hitting/catching systems, etc…)

Content Internship (2 slots per trimester)

You will observe and assist our Content Team with filming & videography, content planning, post-production and social media analytics/strategy. You may also have the chance to assist with the creation of a Feature Film. You'll learn your way around high-end cameras, editing/content creation software & more.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with social media post planning & formatting
  • Assist with filming in-house content, including athlete bullpens and educational content
  • Learn your way around advanced editing software
  • Familiarize yourself with social media analytics & strategy
  • Assist with miscellaneous content/marketing projects for Tread

Marketing Internship (1 slot per trimester)

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SPRING OF 2025.

We’re a fast-growing baseball development company looking for a creative and motivated Marketing Intern to support our marketing team.

In this internship, you’ll work alongside our Marketing Specialist to assist with managing apparel for staff and athletes, event planning, culture building, and assisting with special projects to further our marketing goals. 

We are looking for a disciplined, organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to learn and take on new challenges.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Merchandise – assist with inventory management, fulfilling online and in-house merchandise orders, contributing to product launches and Tread’s overall retail merchandising.
  • Event Planning – contribute to key event planning (Pro Day, Showcases, athlete and staff events and outings.) 
    • Social Media & Promotional Material – assist with occasional graphics and photography to support marketing goals. 
  • Special projects – support the marketing department in the planning and execution of special projects to enhance the experience and brand identity of Tread.
